live/work in QUEENS
The exhibition live/work in QUEENS is an example of Queens Museum’s overall mission to serve and highlight communities across New York’s most multicultural borough. Celebrating the international history and culture of the “World’s Borough,” live/work in QUEENS encompassed a wide array of approaches to art making. The exhibit revealed how an artist’s cultural upbringing may have influenced the art they create, and offered a representation of the nation’s most ethnically diverse county. In the catalogue, each artist also wrote their own statement to inspire a closer reading of their experience.
