*QUEENS MUSEUM EXCLUSIVE
Made in conjunction with Christine Sun Kim's Time Owes Me Rest Again at the Queens Museum, these high-quality, neon green dress socks designed by Christine Sun Kim and Ravi Vasavan for deafpower.me was made in collaboration with Queens Museum and The August Tree.
About the Design
The ILY (I LOVE YOU) sign has been overused by politicians, celebrities, influencers, corporations, artists, and the like. Hearing people often think of it as a symbol for advocacy, but for deaf people, it is a sign that is part of sign language to communicate a sincere feeling of affection. Christine and Ravi imagined the sign as a person getting exhausted, moving from a smiley ILY to a frowny ILY.
