In predominantly Roman Catholic Manila, churches are overflowing with people on Sundays for Mass. The faithful never miss a Sunday, whether it is in their usual parish or not. Everyone wants to hear the priest's homily - to reflect on the previous week and to be able to face what the coming week is going to bring.
For Binggoy Panlilio de Ocampo, it was no different. He looked forward to hearing the Homily and when he was not too happy with it, wrote his own take and posted it on Facebook to share with friends. His reflections became quite the sensation - it was a fresh voice that was very relatable and full of wisdom. His reflections were an inspiration that even as people look to religious preachers for their thoughts on God's word, adding their own voice to it creates a richer experience.
50 Years | 50 Reflections is a compilation of the first 50+ Sunday Gospel reflections that Panlilio de Ocampo had published.
